I grew up in Halfway, Oregon a town of 400-500 people in Eastern Oregon and thoroughly enjoyed my childhood. I spent four years in the Marine Corps then returned to Ontario, Oregon where I earned my Associates of Science in Nursing and worked in the local hospital. I moved to Caldwell, Idaho where I studied at the College of Idaho and applied for medical school. I was accepted and graduated from Oregon Health and Sciences University in 2002, and stayed there for my psychiatric residency.
